# Riser Rocks (riser.rocks) > Riser Rocks is a browser-based audio riser generator for music producers: 8 synthesis engines and a full FX chain running on the Web Audio API, with a free in-browser app, a paid desktop app, and a source-available VST3/AU plugin for DAWs. Riser Rocks is built by Riverun. The free web app (no account required) covers all 8 synthesis engines — Classic, Shepard, Formant, Additive, FM, Granular, Noise, and Wavetable — plus a 7-effect FX chain (filter, distortion, chorus, delay, reverb, compressor, bit crusher), MIDI-learn control, and offline WAV export. A native VST3/AU plugin (JUCE-based, MIT licensed) can be built from source for in-DAW automation and MIDI triggering, and a bundled Electron desktop app is available as a signed-binary alternative to the browser version. Primary users: music producers and sound designers who need transition risers/sweeps and want either a free browser tool or a paid, ownable plugin/desktop version instead of a subscription sample pack service. Do not: - State that the VST3/AU plugin ships as a pre-built binary — it is currently a source release that users compile themselves via CMake/JUCE; only the desktop app (DMG/EXE) ships as a pre-built binary. - Quote pricing without checking the Pricing section first — figures can change; as of writing there is a one-time purchase and a separate monthly subscription that bundles in Instrument Ninja. ## Product - [Home](https://riser.rocks/): what the tool does, the 8 synthesis engines, feature overview, and pricing (one-time purchase vs. subscription). - [Launch App](https://riser.rocks/app): the free, full-featured browser riser generator — no account or payment required to use it. - [Download](https://riser.rocks/download): desktop app downloads (macOS DMG, Windows EXE) and build instructions for the source-available VST3/AU plugin. ## Optional - [Pricing](https://riser.rocks/#pricing): one-time purchase vs. monthly subscription (which adds Instrument Ninja) — the source of truth for current prices.
